Noise of Art Vs Slipped Disco’s UFO April 30th

Rounding off this April’s traditional month of Noise of Art actvity, NOA teams up with sister club Slipped Disco’s UFO for a night of music, visuals, performance art and DJs. Drawing its inspiration from the night’s UFO theme, the night will span live beat science, wigged out disco, psychedlic re-edits, bass fuelled sci fi funk and wah driven dancefloor rock – while art will come courtesy of regular Noise of Art collaborators, making this the biggest prog concept experience since Spinal Tap recreated Stonehenge.

Noise of Art throws an intimate party during its month of activity. Continuing current prog embracing themes, this time NOA is inviting spoken art, words and electronic music to rub shoulders in a club environment.
Faro Isles performer, Budem, will start the evening’s music with a rare opportunity to see a UK performance of his version of the Faro isles story telling traditions. Combining theatre, literature and folk music traditions, his performances are mesmerising and like nothing you’ve seen before. This is the second appearance at Noise of Art, but given the last time was at the Royal Festival Hall, this promises to be a far more intimate affair.
Electronic audio visual outfit Sculpture make their Noise of Art debut with a new set that they’ll be touring around European festivals later this summer. And DJ Ben Osborne will be topping and tailing the night with a typically dancefloor shaking set.

Will see Noise of Art founder Ben Osborne play a seven hour set upstairs at the Big Chill House in Kings Cross. Entry is free until 10pm and then it’s £5 (as long as it’s not full).
Friday 9 April…
Having everyone stomping on the bar may not always be the best way to guarantee your return to one of central London’s swankiest venues, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped the ultra fashionable Momo from inviting Severino and Ben back to spin back to back again.
Their last foray here caused sweet chaos as they mixed from everything to anything (Seventies funk rock to salsa to glitched disco, jiggy house, drum n bass and bin munching b-lines). Even the bouncers didn’t want ‘em to stop.

A night of performance, art and retro-futurist psychedelic disco music, featuring film of Soviet space missions, fantastically costumed performers, live music and DJs.
Following sell out events in London and across the UK, the NOISE OF ART will make its Parisian debut on 13 June by turning the Social Club into a deep space disco.
An immersive music, art and film clubbing event, Noise of Art’s Deep Space Disco features a line-up of London’s leading retro-futurist musicians, DJs, performance artists and visual arts teams. Amongst those crafting cosmic grooves to re-edited Soviet-era space films and fantastically costumed performers, will be The Emperor Machine (who release their new LP in the June), Faze Action (who also have a new space disco LP out), Serge Santiago and Les Hommes Du Train (who launch their single ‘Space Hopper’ on Parisian label Totolo). The night will feature rarely seen footage from early soviet space missions from the National Archive of the BFI.
Noise of Art founder, Ben Osborne, has recently been awarded a prestigious New Music Plus Award, by the PRS Foundation.
