October Part One
by Noise of Art on Oct.06, 2019, under clubs, Events, music
With a new pan European network launch happening at the Social on 30 October (details announced soon) and a new festival and conference on 9 November in Prague, we warm-up our autumn events on Wednesday 9 October with an intimate night in Camden. Details below.
Wednesday 9 October Kings Cross in Camden Cluster presents… Martyn Ware (Human League/ Heaven 17) & Ben Osborne (Noise of Art)
The Constitution, 42 St Pancras Way London NW1 0QT. Phone: 020 7387 4805. Free Entry 7pm-11pm
Martyn Ware, the electronic music pioneer who formed legendary synthesiser groups Human League and Heaven 17, will be making a rare DJ appearance with Noise of Art’s Ben Osborne, at proper London music boozer, The Constitution, in Camden. The writer of classic songs such as Being Boiled, the evergreen (We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thing, which was banned by the BBC at the time, and Temptation, Martyn Ware’s work as a record producer saw him revitalise Tina Turner’s career in the 1980’s and kick start Terence Trent D’Arby’s career. He’s also noted for work in Surround Sound technology and, more recently, for the creation of sound installations.
Martyn is joined by Ben Osborne, DJ, award wining creative producer, author of books and founder of Noise of Art. Time Out has described Ben as a polymath and says his DJ sets include “techno, funk, galactic house, deep down and dirty disco and other dancefloor dynamite”. His A-Z of Club Culture has been described as ‘essential’ by Gilles Peterson.
Kings Cross in Camden Cluster is a free series of social events run by and for creative people living and working in Kings Cross and Camden area.
Noise of Art February 2014
by Noise of Art Team on Feb.03, 2014, under Events
Alongside Slipped Disco at Big Chill House this Friday, Liquorish on Saturday 22 February and Concrete Bar, Southbank on Friday 28 February, Noise Art is busy preparing events celebrating 100 Years since Luigi Russolo first played his prototype synthesisers in 1914.
The first details will be announced soon, but in the meantime Ben Osborne and Slipped Disco slide into Big Chill House (257-259 Pentonville Road King’s Cross London N1 9N. Free Entry. 7pm – 3 am) on Friday 7 February for a night of all things dance floor. “This pleases us very much indeed, primarily because of the anything-goes music policy that sees anything from classic techno, punk-funk, galactic house, deep down and dirty disco and other dancefloor dynamite do the rounds.” (Time Out)
